A steady red light on Linksys router is associated with a bad connection to your internet. Another of the reasons behind it are faulty cables either connected in such a loose or crumpled way. Do inspect the cabling to connect Linksys routers directly to a modem, a source of power as well as a power outlet by making sure these connections are right, kinks, or cracked so as not to break it further on.
