Your first contact with the Runeseeker questline comes in Clearfell, where Farrow can be found. Helping him complete the first Runic Remnant starts the quest chain and unlocks Runeforging.
Afterward, you will need to seek out Runestones in other Act 1 areas. These are connected to additional Runic Remnant encounters and eventually unlock the next important destination. Because the objectives may not always appear directly along the main path, turning on Quest Tracking is highly recommended.
Explore the Grim Tangle
The Grim Tangle contains a critical gateway to the next stage. While exploring the area, search for an Inscribed door. It becomes usable after you have activated enough Runic Remnants throughout Act 1.
Behind this entrance lies the Lost Catacombs. Completing the area unlocks the Verisium Anvil in the Clearfell Encampment. The anvil is then made available in other town hubs and hideouts, providing continued value well beyond Act 1.
Advance the Quest in Act 2
Once Act 2 begins, the same basic pattern returns. You will continue activating Runic Remnants while following Farrow's quest objectives. These encounters gradually lead you toward the Titan Runic Vault in the Valley of the Titans.
The Titan Runic Vault is an important milestone because it unlocks additional Runecrafting improvements. If you want to experience the full Runes of Aldur progression, this is an objective worth completing rather than leaving unfinished.
Navigate Act 3 Carefully
Act 3 continues the search for Runic Remnants. After enough encounters have been completed, the questline points toward the Mystic Refuge Runic Vault.
This vault is located in the Infested Barrens, an area that can be somewhat confusing to navigate. Players who are unsure where to go should rely on the Quest Tracker. Completing the required encounters first is also important because the objective may not activate until sufficient progress has been made.
Collect the Four Torn Map Pieces
Act 4 introduces a different kind of objective. Instead of simply activating Runic Remnants, you must locate four Torn Map Pieces. The pieces are distributed across four locations: Journey's End, Whakapanu Island, Isle of Kin, and Shrike Island.
The individual pieces can be found at a Wrecked Boat, Petrified Pirate, Smuggler's Stash, and Corpse Nest respectively. Once all four have been collected, they can be assembled into a map leading to Plunder's Point.
Discover Grand Expeditions
Plunder's Point introduces Grand Expeditions, which are similar in concept to Logbooks from the original Path of Exile. Completing this section marks the final part of the Runeseeker Campaign Questline.
This final stage gives the entire storyline a different feel from the earlier acts. Instead of simply finding another Runic Remnant, you are using the map pieces collected throughout Act 4 to access a dedicated destination and experience a new form of content.
