A natural marvel in the high Andes of Peru. A tour that will change your life.

Imagine a mountain with different colors? This is not a joke; this is real.

In the high mountains of Peru, at 5,036 meters above sea level, sits Vinicunca, a mountain with 5 natural colors that seem unreal. I was exploring Cusco and Machu Picchu, but after searching for more information about tourist destinations, I found Vinicunca, which is one of the new tourist destinations in Peru.

The Rainbow Mountain tour started at 3:40am. The guide from the company that I booked the tour with came to my hotel for a pickup and took me to the bus. Then, we ride for approximately 2 hours until we reach a small village where we stop for breakfast. I found a bunch of variety of food and enjoyed what we really liked.

After we continue driving for another hour to reach the trailhead. Our guide explained what we need to know about the ascent and stop. The hiking distance was 4 km in an hour and a half. The hike is a bit demanding due to the altitude and also the thin oxygen, but the views are insane, with different mountains with a variety of colors, herds of alpacas, locals dressed in their colorful dresses, and different snowy peaks. The last part of the hike is very steep and difficult because of the high elevation.

Once we arrived, the view of the Rainbow Mountain was one of the most spectacular and unique landscapes that my eyes have seen in my entire life. The layers display a beautiful combination of different colors, including red, green, orange, and purple. Each color creates a distinct visual layer, adding depth, contrast, and character to the landscape. Together, these vibrant tones form a striking natural pattern, showcasing the incredible geological diversity and colorful scenery found throughout the Andean mountains of Peru.

Our guide explains to us the Andean religion, how locals still preserve their culture, and the wildlife in the area. After enjoying the views, we decided to hike to the Red Valley, another 30 minutes away. This is a totally different landscape of the Rainbow Mountain, with fewer people and red mountains that surround the valley.

We then hiked down to the bus and boarded it to Cusipata, where we stop for lunch, then we drove another 2 more hours to back to Cusco.

Incredible day tour adventure, with all included. The guides were amazing, the meals so much varied, and the schedule perfect to beat the large grups.
