I went walking way up high in the Everest area, and saw the most amazing blue lakes! This walk is called the gokyo lake trek. Wow! Did you know there are several lakes there, and they are some of the highest freshwater lakes in the world? The main ones sit around 4,700 to 5,000 meters high (that's over 15,400 feet!). It feels like you are on top of the world!

The walk took many days. We walked past fuzzy yaks carrying stuff. The path went up and up through rocky land. Sherpa people live here, and they are super strong and friendly. Seeing their villages was neat. Then, finally, we saw the first lake. It was SO blue! A bright, shining blue I had never seen. And there wasn't just one – there were more lakes further up!

My favorite part was climbing a hill called Gokyo Ri early one morning. It was cold and windy, but when the sun came up… WOW! I could see Mount Everest! The biggest mountain in the world! And below me were the bright blue Gokyo lakes. It looked like a painting.

This walk is high up, so you have to go slowly and be careful. But seeing those blue lakes and the giant snowy mountains all around? It's a feeling I will never forget. I felt so happy and amazed by how beautiful our world is. If you like big views and bright blue water, the Gokyo walk is incredible!
