Baldi’s Basics is an indie horror game that looks like an old, cheerful 1990s educational game—but it’s actually something much darker. Created by Micah McGonigal (known as Mystman12), the game begins with a simple goal: collect seven notebooks scattered around a school. At first, it seems like a fun math-learning adventure. But very quickly, players realize that something is terribly wrong.

Each time you answer a math question incorrectly, Baldi—the school’s teacher—gets angrier and faster. The once-friendly classroom turns into a maze of fear, filled with bizarre characters like the principal, Playtime, and the bully. Each one has unique behaviors that can either help or make it harder to escape. The player must use strategy, memory, and quick thinking to avoid Baldi and survive long enough to leave the school.
