Pain Offering is just absurd – pop it and watch your minions tear chunks out of whatever’s in front of them. It’s not about micromanaging anything. You set them loose, keep their buff rolling, and they handle business while you glide through each area.
Your key hitters are Skeletal Arsonists. Linked with gems like Feeding Frenzy and Minion Damage, they spam firebombs that set off wild chains of explosions. For bosses, you need a few heavy-hitters – Spectres like Vaal Guard Bombers for big AoEs or Frozen Mandibles to rip through chaos resists. A Skeletal Brute adds intimidation for extra damage, while a Frost Mage brings a chunky defensive edge. Toss in a curse like Despair before the main fight if you want to watch health bars vanish even faster.
The gear curve here’s forgiving. Start small – maybe a +1 to minion gem sceptre, easy life and res gear – and it’ll still feel strong. Later, swap in uniques that really open it up. Bones of Ullr nets more spirits, Enfolding Dawn boosts your Arsonists like crazy. Darkness Enthroned with solid jewels and Ventor’s Gamble rings can spike your Spirit count sky-high so you’ve got an even bigger army. Just stack minion levels, Spirit, and minion damage while keeping your resist capped, and you’ll barely feel threatened except in the nastiest maps.
The way you play it’s pure rush. Flame dash through, your minions clearing before you even notice the mobs. On bosses, drop curses, hit Pain Offering, then direct your crew to focus – they’ll rip Ubers apart while you sit back. Sure, early mana can be tight, and occasionally a Spectre gets stuck on some tiny obstacle, but those annoyances melt away compared to the ridiculous clear speed and boss damage.
